My weekend

I was able to visit with Cristen,

Ashlynn,

Gunner

and Kenny Corupe this weekend.

So good to see we pick up where we leave off. Love these people and miss them terribly! OHHHH!

Sunday, Big Boy and I met up with Bridget at the Festival and looked around for a while. I bought a new stained glass piece and also a bread bowl. It was a great weekened. Spent with some of the people I love most.

I'm baccckkkkkk

I keep reading everyone else's blog and I have decided to give this another shot! I do not know how long it will last since I am in session but I will give it a go.

This weekend, I am driving to see Big Boy and meet up with two of my dearest friends that I have not seen since 2004. They are now married with two little ones and two fur babies. I cannot wait to catch up and meet the little ones. They haven't been back to LA since they were married and moved off to different countries and finally have moved back to the states. As much as things have changed, I know as soon as I see them it will be like we never missed a beat. Love those kinds of friends!
It is also the big festival this weekend back in the town where I went to college. I love going and looking at all of the art and listening to all the music! (and maybe eat a crawfish boat..holy diet blower) I usually meet my bff there and we just relax and enjoy catching up while browsing. Makes my heart happy to be with my bff in the town that I love and let Big Boy see what I love and the town that I feel made me who I am.
Life is good people..I hope you have a great weekend!

2008

So, I was thinking this morning, I should write in my blog and write about things I am thankful for in this wonderful 2008.....
1. Just in case I do not say it enough, I have the world's best parents. I do! I could not ask for two people to love me more or be better role models or friends than my mother and father. I have come to appreciate their love and support the older and more mature I'm getting (I know..some of you will debate the older and mature thing...save it!) They are the two people that I love most in this world.
2. I have the best friends a girl could ask for. I do! My friends have special places in my heart and could not have become the person I am today without many of them! For instance, Bridget, I could not ever go to Marley's or City Bar without you....you are my wing (wo)man..but in all honesty, you have been the friend that I have spent my most special times with and I cherish each and every one of them. I could not be more proud of you or the person you have become if you were my own flesh and blood! I cannot wait to come and get my hair did! :)
Mo, I honestly think God had a plan when he had us meet 9 1/2 years ago! He knew that the two of us being only children we needed someone who we could call and just be an only child with. (i.e. adoption, being single....) There are things they we experience being only children that it is hard to make others understand. Plus, we grew up differently than most people..being the only one attention was put on.. ;) I am so proud of you finishing school while maintaining a full time job! The end is in sight my friend!!!
Ariele- I know someone had a hand in us meeting. You needed someone to calm you down during flight school! :) I still wonder how we were put together as roommates...two people..from two different worlds..yet so similar...I feel like I have known you just as long as my other friends. No matter, how long we go without seeing each other, we just pick up where we left off like no time has passed. I am so proud of you and how you have adapted to motherhood--two times over! So much has happened in our lives since we met! I have enjoyed flying to see you and your family...you are all so special....even Jason ;)
Corrie-I still think it's so cool that we can tell people we met in Paris! I think back to that time and how SO much has changed. I still fondly remember our summer abroad and wish SO BAD that I could go and do that trip all over again! I am so proud of you and your Jaycie girl. You are handling motherhood in stride and so well! MUAH!
Angela-I thought about you this week when I had snow in Baton Rouge! Do you remember the first snow in Winthrop?? Gosh, I do...I think that was the first time Erma turned the heat on in that house!! HA! I miss our little shopping trips and excursions through Boston. Thanks for always sending me cards...some days when I get them..you have no idea how much I needed a smile! (and yours always put a big smile on my face!)
3. My health. I am so thankful that I am in good health. I am also thankful that my aunt did fantastic during her kidney transplant..all is on schedule and she is recuperating well! I am also thankful for all of the people in my lives that are healthy and their families are as well. I know we all have certain issues..thyroid, seizures, feet, backs..(just to name a few) but thank goodness they are nothing TOO serious! My family has had too many serious issues..heart, cancer, congestive heart failure...so I think all in all we are doing pretty dang well!
4. I hate to put something on here that is material, but I have to. I am thankful that I have my house. This is something that I have been wanting for several years now and I can honestly say I have my very own place. I am proud of myself (yes, I am patting myself on the back)
5. My new job. I am thankful that I was asked to take this new job. Although it is difficult, I am thankful for the new challenge it has brought me and the opportunities it will bring in the future. Plus, I am thankful for the new size of my paycheck :) I am happy that someone saw the potential in me to take and do this job!

Well, I was trying to think back on what a year 2008 has been..and it sure has been great! I have traveled to places I love and places that I fell in love with (Santa Barbara). I plan on doing plenty more traveling as time and money allow and can't wait for the new adventures these trips will bring.

Hope everyone had a fabulous 2008 and here's to an even better 2009!!
